When I started Life After Stroke a few years ago, it was simply to document and navigate my recovery journey. I did not anticipate how much my story would resonate with others but in seeing such positive responses, I recognized the importance of creating a safe space for others to also share their experiences.
Life After Stroke has become a community that aims to create a positive and supportive environment while assisting young stroke survivors as they move forward with their lives. It provides a platform for stroke survivors to build relationships, exchange resources and support each other in overcoming obstacles in their journey to recovery.
I’m looking to build a small team to help grow the work of Life After Stroke. I am currently looking for volunteers who can dedicate a few hours each week to support Life After Stroke in the following roles:
- Website Administrator: Responsible for publishing new content and monitoring comments
- Social Media Coordinator: Assists with promotion of new content and engages with online community
- Fundraising Coordinator: Supports with researching funding opportunities and building partnerships
